Tablet Command is the emerging leader as an incident management application for public safety and emergency responders. The iPad app provides an intuitive, easy to use, robust application to public safety first responders for notification, situational awareness and incident management.

Tablet Command Enterprise Service is in use by thousands of fire service professionals spanning 100’s of fire departments across North America. Our premiere users include San Francisco, Stockton, Miramar (FL), San Bernardino County, San Diego City, Denver and San Mateo County.

Please provide in your application an example of something you’ve created and are proud of. This can be anything you choose: an app you’ve built, some code, a blog post, a pull request, or whatever you like.

Nice-to-haves include:

  • 3-4 years of professional experience with iOS (Swift, Objective-C)
  • Knowledge of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms
  • Experience with RESTful API
  • Organized, ability to be self-managed and able to collaborate across team
  • Action-oriented, diligent, and flexible
  • Passion for public safety and mission-critical software

We’re committed to Tablet Command being a company where the best developers want to work, so we run an operational system (with credit to Joel Spolsky) known as “making a company where the best developers want to work,” or, in simpler terms, treating people well. This operational system applies to the physical layer (allowing remote work, family-friendly policies, reasonable work hours), the presentation layer (clean and pragmatic programming practices, pushing decisions down to the team, hiring smart people and letting them get things done, and a commitment to inclusion and professional development). But most importantly, the human layer, where no matter what we do, it’s guided first and foremost by an obsession with being fair, humane, kind, and treating each other as family.

Here are some of the other benefits you can expect working for Tablet Command:

  • Opportunity to work on high profile apps that make a difference

  • Work with an awesome dedicated group of people who are passionate about technology and public safety

  • Competitive Compensation

  • Generous Vacation Policy
